This biographical drama focuses on the 1948 manhunt for Nobel Prize-winning Chilean poet and politician Pablo Neruda (Luis Gnecco). Pablo must escape from his country after he joins the Communist party, as it is outlawed in Chile. He is pursued by an ambitious police inspector Oscar Peluchonneau (Gael García Bernal) who is hoping to make a name for himself by capturing the well-known fugitive.
